At the beginning of Advent, we focus on Jesus' final coming. The readings, especially from the Old Testament, bring visions of the end of the world.
We can think about the end of the world in different ways. We can focus on what a "terrible" event it will be. We can think about it as being caused by human failing and sins. We can think about it as being caused by climate change.  But it is clear that "this world will pass away." It is important for us to remember that  we need to remember that we are called to build the Kingdom of God as much as we can, to grow as sisters and brothers, to become the persons and people who are to share God's kingdom forever.  Our forever starts now.

"Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again!"
